Francisco Portillo is part of BU’s Quality Assurance team and has been with the university for nearly two years. He always wanted to work in higher education and loves working with computers.
In his role, Francisco audits the processes of different departments to make sure their workflows are adhering to BU’s policies and core values. “Currently I am taking certification courses in Salesforce and AI implementation to grow as an individual while aiding in the current use of systems across BU.”
He stays motivated because he knows there’s a solid and bright future in his department and that his work aids in the overall success of the university. He describes working at BU as working with, “a very caring and supportive group of individuals from every level in the organization.”
In his free time, Francisco enjoys going to the gym and the movies. His advice to anyone just starting their career is: “Ask questions and do not be shy to ask for help, the support is there all you need to do is ask.”
For anyone considering a career at BU, Francisco’s advice is simple: “Do it!”
